Introducing the latest MWC self-luminous G10 model from our Combat Elite range. This watch features a titanium case with 300m (1000ft) water resistance, a screw-down crown, screw caseback, scratch and shatter-resistant sapphire crystal, and Tritium GTLS light sources on the hands and markers for optimal performance during the hours of darkness.

The special covert matte black non-reflective PVD finish used for this watch is often specified in military contracts for special forces units and anti-terrorist teams during covert operations. In the PVD process, the titanium is not black all the way through; the color is created by a special chemical plating process that is vastly superior to the painted finish used on some lower-quality watches, which can easily fade or wear off. This PVD process alters the color of the metal at a molecular level, ensuring it does not deteriorate even during heavy usage, although it can be damaged if the case is gouged or subjected to heavy abrasion.

The MWC 300m Black PVD titanium G10 with a Swiss Ronda 715li movement is one of our highest specification general service watches. It combines the best of both new and traditional watchmaking technology. Retaining all the popular features from the conventional 300m steel models, the titanium case, ultra-low maintenance movement, and cutting-edge self-luminous GTLS tritium vials, which provide unbeatable night visibility, set this watch apart from its competitors. Additionally, the shatter and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal makes it the ideal timepiece for military, law enforcement, and security applications.

The self-luminous system makes the watch very easy to read at night, featuring a distinctive high-visibility dial. The hour markers and the hour and minute hands each have a brightly glowing vial of Tritium gas. While the vials contain radioactive gas, they collectively contain less than the personal limit of 25 millicuries, in accordance with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations (10 CFR 30.15). Military watches of this type are the easiest in the world to read in low light or total darkness, thanks to a self-activated light source that is 100 times brighter than traditional light sources such as paint. The light-emitting tubes require no battery power or any other form of charging and never need servicing or maintenance.

We designed these watches specifically for a government contract, with the requirement that they could be stored and issued as needed without the worry of dead batteries. The Ronda 715li was recommended for its 10-year battery life, completely avoiding this issue.

The standard MWC G10 is one of the most tried and tested military watches, with earlier variants in service since the 1980s. This model shares a similar design to the steel models, but the titanium case places it in a separate class. The G10 Combat Elite range is supplied with a black NATO pattern nylon military webbing strap. The reverse of the case carries various contract markings.

Why Choose Sapphire Crystal Over Mineral Crystal?

Sapphire crystal is superior to standard mineral crystal due to its exceptional strength, shatter resistance, and scratch resistance. These attributes make it highly desirable for individuals with active lifestyles, particularly among military personnel, security personnel, and police officers, who make up over 70% of our customer base.

Our observations reveal that over 90% of incidents resulting in cracked watch crystals involve timepieces with mineral glass crystals. Even hardened mineral crystals fall short of sapphire in terms of durability, especially in adverse conditions. Sapphire crystals derive their robustness from a meticulous process: after manufacturing, the sapphire glass undergoes heat treatment to eliminate internal stresses, which could compromise its strength. It is then transformed into watch crystals, receiving two layers of anti-reflective coating.

While sapphire crystal comes at a higher price, it is typically found in higher-end watches. This investment pays dividends in terms of longevity, resilience, and overall performance, making sapphire crystal the top choice for discerning customers seeking unparalleled durability in their timepieces.
